Sauvignon has been grown in the Hunter Valley for over one hundred years. It is a difficult grape to grow in this region as the early rains, and extreme heat makes some vintages a real challenge. But when the vintage is kind, we can turn out some wonderfully full-bodied savoury wines. Big fruit and big tannins give these wines great cellaring potential.
This "CEO" Cabernet Sauvignon is a seamless wine from a brilliant vintage. A lovely blend of cassis, dark cherry, and smoky tones. Fine tannins and judicious use of oak make this a keeper. It's full-bodied with a medium level of acidity that is fantastic for drinking with food.
