Château des Adouzes is situated in the medieval village of Roquessels in the heart of AOP Faugères. The appellation is exclusively composed of schists, one of the most prized terroirs in the world. Faugères is a small appellation very well-regarded for its red wines. It’s the only Languedoc appellation with a homogenous terroir throughout. Here, schist is king. This very infertile rock drains water, making roots go very deep into the soil to find it, down to fractures in the bedrock. This unique features makes the vines very resistant to drought. Schist also absorbs and stores heat during the day, slowly releasing it back at night, which promotes healthy grape ripening.
The case is consisted of: 1 white wine - le Tigre Blanc ; 1 rosé - le Tigre Rose ; 4 red wines that include 2 x 2019 le Tigre Rouge, 1 x 2019 Frere et Soeur and 1 x 2022 La Vieille.
The case showcases the production of almost 100-year old vines from the precious terroir of Faugeres, demonstrating the varieties of grapes of:
Grenache Blanc, Grenache Noir, Rolle, Rousanne, Carignan Noir, Syrah and Mourvedre,
and the vigneron's exemplary wine-making and wine blending techniques.
