Shiraz is the signature red grape variety of the Hunter Valley, which is famous for producing full-flavored, medium to full-bodied wines. The warm weather conditions produce easy-drinking wines with a distinctive Hunter character which is different from the cooler climate Shiraz from Southern Australia.

The 2017 CEO Shiraz is an excellent example of Hunter Shiraz, made from high-quality parcels of Hunter Valley grapes specially selected by the Ernest Hill Wines CEO, Ross Wilson. It displays rich flavors of blackberry and mulberry with a hint of white pepper spice. These are enhanced by 16 months of maturation in French oak barrels. The 2017 vintage produced a wine of great depth, with a long smooth satisfying finish.
